If you are in Ohio, you should make sure to vote for Issue 5 next week. The payday lenders have spent $15 million and done some dirty deeds to try to defeat this issue, because they depend on their ability to charge 391% interest to the poor.

If the issue passes they will be limited to 28% which is plenty of interest for anyone to make. The payday lenders are claiming that they will go out of business if the issue passes. Um…yes…and that will be a good thing.

While you’re at it, vote no on Issue 6. The casino thugs are trying to legalize their trade in Ohio. They tout the construction and resort jobs, but casinos ultimately drain an economy. No necessary goods or services are created, and massive wealth is transfered to casino owners from people who probably should not be putting their money on the table.

So…git yer bad seff to the voting booth and do some good for Ohio.
